The Nurturing and Foundation for Attachment Series

Kim has developed two DDPI Endorsed Parenting Programmes based on the DDP model. Nurturing Attachments, an 18 session group work programme, and the complementary Foundations for Attachment, a six session or three-day programme.

These are aimed at helping parents and carers to understand the difficulties of children who have experienced developmental trauma, and to adapt their parenting in a way that helps children recover from this early experience.

Each programme can stand alone or they can fit together so that parents work through Foundations for Attachment and then explore the ideas in more depth through the Nurturing Attachments programme.

Each programme has a manual providing facilitators with all the materials they need to run the groups. It is recommended that facilitators have also done some DDP training as a foundation for delivering these groups.

There is a book accompanying each manual to provide parents and interested practitioners with more detailed information, illustrated with family stories.
