Foundations for Attachments Groupwork Programme and Nurturing Attachments Training Resources

This online Train the Trainers programme provides participants with Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) informed training that will equip them to deliver the Foundations for Attachment (FfA) and the Nurturing Attachments (NA) group work programmes with parents and carers parenting children who have experienced developmental trauma, including adoptive, foster, kinship, residential and respite carers.
Aim
This training will prepare participants to deliver and use the programmes within parenting groups informed by the DDP principles. The training is experiential and will provide lots of opportunities to practice delivering parts of the programmes, including responding to parents and carers (played by fellow delegates) in a DDP-informed way.
Objectives
- To gain knowledge and understanding of the Foundations for Attachments Programme and the Nurturing Attachments Training Resource.
- To have a thorough understanding of the group work process which underpins the delivery of the groups.
- To be confident facilitating the programme informed by the DDP principles.
- To be confident facilitating the programme in a way which is inclusive and sensitive to difference.
- To be confident writing mind-minded narratives and helping others to develop these.
- To be confident responding with PACE, PACE role plays and helping others to develop the use of PACE within the group work.
Prerequisites
Participants will have completed DDP Level One training and the completion of DDP Level Two is recommended.
Participants should be familiar with at least one of the resources published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers and have it available during the training.
