Diversity and DDP going forward

DDPI is urgently addressing the lack of diversity within the organisation and those it is supporting.

In 2020 the Racial Equity and Social Justice (RESJ) committee was set up and the DDPI board is working closely with this committee to take action.

Diversity and DDP, Worcester DDP Study Day Report

In response, Kim ran a study day in Worcester with a focus on how we can increase diversity within DDP.

The morning was led by Delroy Madden (also a member of RESJ) and focused on racial equity. The afternoon was led by Georgia Cooper with a focus on LGBTQ parenting in fostering and adoption.

Kim has written a report of this study day which you can read and find out more information about on the DDP Network website.

DDP Conversations

Following on from this study day Kim and Delroy had some conversations about race and DDP. Although these were initially private we discovered such rich conversation which we wanted to share with others. We therefore recorded two further discussions.

Titled ‘DDP Conversations: The Part Race and Cultural Differences Play in our Therapeutic Practice’ they are available to view on Delroy Madden’s YouTube Channel The Elephant in the room and the new DDPI Vimeo Channel.
